On June 9th, “Charlie Played Cello” played a gig at The Viper Room in West Hollywood for their CD release titled, Red. “Charlie’s” drummer, Tommy, is a student at Richard Lawson’s acting studio. They opened for “2nd Wheel” and “Elvis Monroe.” (Which is a comprised of Bryan Hopkins (Paperback Hero), Ben Carey (Lifehouse), Ryan MacMillan (Matchbox Twenty) and Matt Nelson (Nelson).)
“Charlie” also used the venue to shoot a music video for their Red track “Memories Collide” (itunes link). “Charlie” members dressed up in their finest wigs and 80’s glam outfits and rocked the house.
For this shoot I simply acted as an equipment PA, but it was my first trip to The Viper Room and I can’t wait to go back!
The band is currently editing this music video and I will post it as soon as a final cut is released. Below are stills from the shoot. *UPDATE* Memories Collide music video below!
