Through Richard Lawson’s class, I met two students, Amanda and Jordan, who needed assistance with a class assignment. Their group wrote a 5-page politically-driven short that dealt with both the Mormon religion and the upcoming presidential election between Barack Obama and the Republican nominee, Mitt Romney. Written as an ironic dramedy, “Black Mormons,”(Working Title) highlights the potential dilemma for black Mormons during this election cycle in which they may have to choose their vote based on race or religion.
Shot on a Canon 5d, I assisted with gaffing as well as on-set audio, boom op. This short is still being edited and I will post as soon as I receive a link. Below is still from the set.
