My second week in Los Angeles was spent helping out my cousin shoot a short scripted narrative based on a documentary about American soldiers in Afghanistan. Originally, Restrepo, documented the stuggles and comraderie amongst our troops and their push back of the Taliban. My cousin, Chad Strawn, wrote a scene loosely based on the concept in which one of the soldiers recounts a certain battle with a documentary filmmaker.
Shot on a Canon 5D, I assisted with minor pre-pro, scene blocking, gaffing, and on-set audio. This scene was shot as a writing assignment in Richard Lawson’s acting class and is a centerpiece of my cousin’s acting demo reel.
