Two weeks ago I wrote a post discussing a new and interesting method for wall art decorations on the cheap. Vinyl sticker art is becoming noticeably more popular as a simple, yet creative way of creating “themes” for enhancing your rooms, nurseries, art studios, offices, etc.
I received both of my vinyl sticker purchases from two separate Etsy stores. One decal set is made from basic black vinyl sticker sheets; my modest farm / cow theme. It creates a simple silhouette in my kitchen, allowing for a complimentary piece to my FLOR cow patterned carpet squares. Sent from SixUnderATree, I was at first underwhelmed with the packaging. The stickers were slightly bent while rolled up in a square box. However, they did end up sending more stickers than I initially thought came with the set. Extra cows all around! This company also included five bird stickers to use either as practice or decoration. They are basic stickers, but a nice complimentary touch from the company. Once I started adhering the farm to the wall though, I was quite pleased. Equipped with a simple X-ACTO knife, I carefully peeled away the transfer sheet, placed, and flattened the sticker. I left the second back ply sheet on each sticker for a few minutes making sure everything was secure.

When I peeled off the remaining sheets I was left with a pretty cool farm scene above the kitchen sink. Using this form of decorating is both cheap and fun. As a kid who always wanted a sticker collection, this is the next best thing in adult form… and mom can’t tell me to take the stickers off the wall! (Until she comes to visit from Ohio!)

My second vinyl sticker is also interesting in its own way. It is not a vinyl transfer, but an etched and printed higher quality textured sticker. I got the smallest size available from MyWallStickers. My colorful bike girl now resides in the guest bike-themed bathroom. Although I believe a larger print would have looked better, covering the whole wall (larger sizes available)…these textured stickers cost a little bit more. This sticker is more of an art piece than supplemental background art. I thought their packaging was great as they included not only a customized label on the outside of the tubular poster box, but also adorable printed colorful instructions. Per the instructions, each adhering session is to begin with a celebratory dance…and end with a victory dance…I’ll spare my readers the visualization of me dancing.

Small touches like these really do effect product appreciation and customer retention. When you make the customer feel like their purchase is special it makes them remember your company.
As for more vinyl stickers around the apartment, I believe I’ll get a few more textured prints in the future to add to the bathrooms. If you’re decorating on a budget, they definitely add a certain playful feel to your decor.
